One of the most popular players to don the Danbury Westerners uniform returned for a visit on June 21. Jesse Cole threw out the first pitch left-handed because of recent surgery to his pitching arm. Jesse is currently a coach for Cotuit in the Cape Cod League and after the season is over will become the General Manager of the Gastonia Grizzlies in the Coastal Plain League. |

The first day of summer saw Newport return to Danbury still holding the best record in the league at 9-1. This night the Westerners prevailed as Danbury righty Andrew Davis (Fordham) beat lefty Will Stroup (Alabama). |
